Project Learning Tree doesn't just increase student awareness of environmental issues through classroom studies. We help students transfer their knowledge into positive environmental action in their own schools and communities. 

Service-learning is a teaching method that enriches learning by engaging students in meaningful service to their schools and communities through a process that is carefully integrated with learning objectives. It emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving, tackles challenges such as the environment and sustainability, and values people of all ages and abilities as having talents to offer.

PLT's service-learning programs GreenWorks! and GreenSchools! empower students to take action to improve their school and neighborhood’s environment based on what they learn in the classroom. Through their academic and personal involvement, students are taking responsibility for the environment.
