GreenWorks! Service-Learning Grants
Through
GreenWorks!, the American Forest Foundation provides merit-based grants to schools, and to groups that work with youth, to create gardens, plant trees, restore streams and wildlife habitat, improve energy efficiency, and other projects. In many of these projects, such as a water-monitoring project in Homer, Alaska, and a demonstration garden in Chino, California, students share what they learn in community events.
GreenWorks! projects link classroom learning to the world beyond. They engage students with their local community in “learning-by-doing” environmental action projects. Student leadership, service-learning, and community participation are the cornerstones to
GreenWorks! projects.

Since 1992, AFF has distributed more than $800,000 to fund over 1,000
GreenWorks! projects across the country.
Grants up to $5,000 are available.
